‘You Can't Get Hep B Here’ national hepatitis B campaign - 2026
We are supporting a hepatitis B public awareness campaign developed by the Burnet Institute and Hepatitis B Voices Australia. Co-designed with members of the Chinese and Vietnamese communities, the campaign aims to improve understanding of hepatitis B and reduce stigma through culturally and linguistically appropriate information.
Key messages include:
- You cannot get hepatitis B from sharing food, chopsticks, plates or drinks.
- You cannot get hepatitis B from swimming pools or other public spaces.
- Hepatitis B is not spread through hugging, holding hands or kissing.
