Hepatitis Awareness Week (26 July – 1 August) is an important time to raise awareness about liver health and the impact of hepatitis B and hepatitis C. Many people may not realise they are affected as these conditions often have no symptoms for many years. A simple blood test is the only way to know your status, making testing a vital first step to protecting your health.
Hepatitis B is more common in some culturally diverse communities, and early testing, vaccination, and ongoing care can prevent serious liver disease. Hepatitis C, while often silent, is now curable with effective treatment. Early diagnosis leads to better outcomes.
This Hepatitis Week, NSW MHAHS is supporting communities with a range of new multilingual resources designed to improve understanding, reduce stigma and support informed health decisions.
Explore and share our:
- Refreshed MHAHS website, mhahs.org.au

By increasing awareness and promoting access to testing, vaccination, and treatment, we can work together to support healthier communities and better liver health outcomes.
