At the information night, a lawyer from HALC (HIV/AIDS Legal Centre) will discuss immigration, visas and obtaining permanent residency whilst living with HIV.

We want you to walk away feeling empowered and confident with an understanding of the challenges and processes that might arise from applying for different visas and permanent residency.

The night will cover general advice on:

  • Options for temporary and permanent visas
  • Health waivers and seeking asylum
  • Accessing treatment without Medicare
  • Immediate treatment and general adherence tips

There will be an opportunity to ask questions. We event will be catered, so please join us for some good food and practical information!

Information on the evening will be from Vikas Parwani. Vikas is a solicitor and registered migration agent who has been working at the HIV/AIDS Legal Centre (HALC) for over 3 years and who has significant experience in Immigration and Refugee Law. HALC is a specialist community legal centre that provides legal advice and representation to people living with HIV related legal problems, including immigration.
